About LKI

We started LKI because we believe great ideas already exist. We help them take root.

Shared learning. Stronger communities. Better outcomes for the educators and students at the center of it all.

Our Story

Built from the inside out

LKI Consulting network participants gathered for a professional learning session

LKI Consulting was founded by educators who had spent careers inside schools and systems as teachers, coaches, instructional leaders, administrators, professors and professional learning facilitators. We had seen what worked, what didn't, and what was missing from most consulting relationships.

Too often, external partners arrived with pre-packaged solutions, delivered their content, and left. The work didn't stick. The capacity wasn't built. And the people doing the work were left to figure out the rest on their own.

We founded LKI to do it differently. To show up as genuine partners. We are curious, humble, and committed to the long game. To build the kind of relationships where honest conversations happen and real change becomes possible.

Why we exist
"Education is deeply human work. And asking someone to change how they teach, lead, or learn is deeply personal. That's why we believe lasting change starts from the inside out."
What guides us

Our values in practice

Relationships first

We invest in understanding people and context before we recommend anything. Trust is the foundation of every effective partnership.

Grounded in evidence

Our work is informed by research in implementation science, adult learning, and systems change.

Equity as a lens

We bring an equity lens to every engagement by examining who benefits, who is left out, and what structures need to change.

Capacity over dependency

We measure success by how quickly organizations develop the internal capacity to sustain the work without us. Every experience is customized to your context, needs, and priorities

Honest partnership

We say what we see, even when it's hard. Genuine partnership requires honesty, not just affirmation.

Continuous learning

We hold ourselves to the same standard we bring to our partners. We are always learning, always improving, always open to feedback.

The people behind the work

Practitioners first

Every member of the LKI team has spent significant time inside schools and systems. We bring 75+ years of combined experience in teaching, coaching, leadership, and organizational improvement.

What makes us different

We're not a firm. We're partners.

We start with listening

Before we recommend anything, we invest time in understanding your context, your history, and the people doing the work.

We stay close to the work

We don't hand off deliverables and disappear. We show up, facilitate, coach, and adjust alongside you through implementation.

We build internal capacity

From day one, we're working toward the end of our involvement — developing internal leaders, coaches, and facilitators who can carry the work forward.

We tell the truth

We share what we observe, name what's getting in the way, and have the hard conversations that genuine partnership requires.

Want to get to know us better?

The best partnerships start with a conversation. We'd love to hear about your context and explore whether we're the right fit.
